How Railway bills
You pay a monthly subscription that includes the same amount of usage credit. Usage above that credit is billed by the second.
Included usage resets each month and doesn't roll over.

Limits and controls
- You can set an email alert and a hard usage limit (minimum $10). At the hard limit, Railway takes workloads offline.
- Log history: 7 days on Hobby, 30 days on Pro.
- Custom domains: 2 on Hobby, 20 on Pro.
Trial
A one-time $5 credit for up to 30 days, with no card required. After that, the account moves to the Free plan with $1 of credit a month.
A worked example
A service using 0.5 vCPU and 512 MB around the clock is 0.5 × $20 + 0.5 × $10 = $15 of usage a month. On Hobby you pay $15: the $5 subscription plus the $10 above it, plus any egress. A service that idles uses less.
On ComputeSphere
On ComputeSphere you pay a flat plan per team (Hobby $0, Pro $24, Team $99 a month) plus a fixed monthly price for each spherelet your account holds, from $6 for Flex 512 MB. Compute isn’t metered by CPU, memory or requests, and every plan includes unlimited team members.
Questions

Yes. Above the credit your plan includes, Railway bills the CPU, memory, egress and storage you use, by the second.
Can I cap my Railway bill?
