Audit log outcomes
Every entry in the audit log shows how the change ended.
- Done (API:
succeeded): The change was carried out. - Requested (API:
requested): We accepted the change and are still carrying it out. - Waiting for approval (API:
waiting): The change waits for someone to approve it before it runs. - Failed (API:
failed): We tried the change and it didn't succeed. - Refused (API:
refused): The change wasn't allowed, so nothing changed. - No result recorded (API:
unconfirmed): We accepted the change but didn't receive its result in time. It may have taken effect: check the resource's current state.
No result recorded
Some changes, such as a deploy, a restart or new variables, take effect after we accept them. When the result doesn't come back within the time that kind of change normally takes, the entry reads No result recorded instead of staying Requested. It never reads Failed: the change may well have worked.
Hover over it, or open the entry, to see: "We accepted this change but didn't receive its result. Check the service's current state to confirm it took effect."
In the entry's details, Last checked is when we stopped waiting for the result. If the result arrives later, the entry shows it instead.
Entries from before October 29, 2026 that never got a result now read No result recorded too.
In the API
GET /v2/accounts/{aid}/audit-events returns the outcome in outcome; outcome=unconfirmed filters for these entries. More values may be added later: show a value you don't recognize as it is.
