Password
Anyone with the password can open the service. Visitors see a password box with your service's name.
Good for demos and client review, where the people you share with aren't members of your ComputeSphere account.
Turn it on
- Open your service, then Settings › Networking, and find Access protection.
- Select Edit, choose Password and enter a password of 12 to 128 characters.
- Select Save.
SphereGate keeps the password protected, and it can't be shown again. Keep track of who you shared it with.
Changing the password
Changing the password signs everyone out. They'll need the new password at their next request.
Too many tries
After several wrong passwords in a row, the page asks the visitor to wait a minute before trying again, or an hour after many more.
What your app sees
A password doesn't say who someone is, so your app gets no email address for password visitors. See Using SphereGate in your app.
