General·HTTP 401·API, CLI

Unauthenticated

unauthenticated

The request did not carry credentials the API accepts.

What this means

The Authorization header is missing, or the sign-in session or token in it is no longer valid.

How to fix it

Sign in again (with the CLI: csph auth login), or send a valid API token in the Authorization header as a Bearer token. You create tokens in the console under Settings → User tokens.

Retry behavior

Retry once you have valid credentials.

How it appears in the response

ComputeSphere returns errors as RFC 7807 Problem Details. The type field is the docs URL for this page — switch on code in your client.

The Content-Type header is application/problem+json. On field-level validation errors a non-empty errors[] array also appears, each entry carrying its own docs_url for the offending field.
